Despite the wet weather, pancake lovers in Gloucester turned out for Shrove Tuesday in aid to raise funds for The Family Haven which was held outside Woolworths in the City Centre. This was possible due to the generosity of Stevens Catering, allowing us to use their catering unit in Eastgate Street and for providing all the pancakes.
The grand total of £286.00 was raised by the Family Haven from the sale of pancakes during lunch time. The money will go towards a trip to West Midlands Safari Park for 35 children in the mid term break.
Claire McGrath Fundraising & Public Relations Manager said ' she would like to thank all who brought pancakes in aid of the Family Haven on Shrove Tuesday. Also thanks to all the volunteers Steve Wood, Su Mullins, Sue and Sarah Maughan, Charlie Kawczynski, Lynn Stacey, Dimple Whaid and Lyn Cinderey. Special thanks to Jane Stevens for showing us the ropes, giving up her time and providing us with a really fun way to raise funds.
We really appreciate the continued support of our local community and the generosity of the Gloucester people. We would love to hear from anyone wishing to offer their support or who would like to join us for future events.
